Fairfield Women's Tennis celebrates the fifth MAAC Regular Season Championship in program history.

The Stags will play for the conference championship this weekend.

After completing the regular season with matching 6-0 records in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Fairfield University Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs have swept the MAAC Regular Season Championships. Both squads will be the top seed in their respective conference tournaments this weekend at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J.

The women’s team, which earned a 4-1 win over Quinnipiac on Monday to lock up its first regular season title since 2013, is 10-8 overall and brings a seven-match winning streak into the postseason. The Stags will play fourth-seeded Siena in the MAAC Championship semifinals on Saturday at 10 a.m. The winner will advance to Sunday’s MAAC Championship match, also slated for 10 a.m. Fairfield defeated the Saints, 4-3, in the regular season.

The men’s tennis team won its second straight MAAC Regular Season Championship with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Quinnipiac on Tuesday. Winners of 10 consecutive matches for the first time in 15 years, the Stags will challenge Rider in the semifinal round on Saturday at 2 p.m. for a berth in Sunday’s MAAC Championship match. Fairfield took a 6-1 win over the Broncs on April 6.

The Stags’ pair of MAAC Regular Season Championships marks the first time that a MAAC program has won both the men’s and women’s titles outright since 2008.

The winners of the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships earn the conference’s automatic bids into the 2024 NCAA postseason.
