Fairfield achieved standout rankings for Best Career Services, Best Student Support and Counseling Services, and Most Active Student Government.

The Princeton Review has announced its 2025 Best Colleges rankings, and Fairfield University has again placed among the Best 390 Colleges in the nation, according to the education services company.

Fairfield University will be profiled in the 33rd edition of the Princeton Review’s annual Best Colleges Guide which features approximately 15 percent of America’s four-year colleges.

Additionally, The Princeton Review has published its 50 college rankings lists for 2025 on PrincetonReview.com, as featured in the The Best 390 Colleges. These lists highlight the top 25 colleges in specific categories, selected based on the feedback of 168,000 students surveyed at the schools included in the book, who evaluated their colleges on a wide range of topics, from academics to campus life. The surveys were conducted during the 2023-24 academic year and/or the two preceding academic years.

The Princeton Review does not provide an overall hierarchical ranking of the 390 schools in the book from 1 to 390. Instead, it identifies the top 25 schools in each of its 50 ranking list categories.

Fairfield achieved standout rankings on several lists, in the following categories:

  • #22 Best Career Services
  • #18 Best Student Support and Counseling Services
  • #22 Most Active Student Government

According to The Princeton Review, Best Career Services rankings are determinedbased on students' answers to the survey question: ‘How do you rate your school's career/job placement services?’”

Best Student Support and Counseling Services rankings are determined “based on students' answers to the survey question, ‘How do you rate your school's student support and counseling services?’”

Most Active Student Government rankings are “based on how strongly students agree or disagree with the statement, ‘Student government has an active presence and a tremendous impact on campus life.’”

Fairfield was also included in the Best Value Colleges, and Best Northeast categories. In the "2025 Best Colleges: Region by Region" web feature, 631 colleges deemed “academically outstanding” are highlighted across seven regions — Northeast, South, Southwest, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, West, and International.

Fairfield University’s consistent presence in these rankings reflects its commitment to providing students with an exceptional educational experience, both inside and outside the classroom. The University’s strong showing in categories like Best Career Services and Best Student Support underscores its dedication to fostering student success and well-being.

These rankings follow the most competitive admission cycle in the University’s history. An unprecedented 33 percent acceptance rate for the incoming first-year students reflects the rising popularity of Fairfield University among top-performing students. The newest Stags were selected from a record-breaking pool of 18,505 applicants, with an average weighted GPA of 3.96.
