Meet Monarch of the Month: Megan (Stauffer) Lindley, ’06

Meet Women's Tennis Alumna Megan (Stauffer) Lindley, ’06

Megan Lindley and her family

Megan (Stauffer) Lindley, Class of 2006 and former Division I tennis player, remains a dedicated supporter and inspiring figure for Fairfield University's athletic community.

Why did you choose to attend Fairfield University?
I chose Fairfield because I wanted to go to a University with a solid business program and also play D1 tennis. It was also important to me that the team was able to truly compete to win the league and have a chance to go to the NCAA tournament (which we did in my 2004 season). I went on my recruitment trip and had a great time. I knew on that trip that I was committing to Fairfield and never looked back. The team and coaching staff were so welcoming, the decision was easy!

How are you involved with the University now?
I stay up on the sports teams and try and go to games and matches whenever I can. I usually make it to one match a year. I also donate annually to the Women’s tennis program and join as many Zoom calls and informational sessions as I can.

What inspires you to stay involved with the University?
I want to stay involved because those four years were such a great experience for me, and I hope to enhance the experience of the current athletes.

How do you hope your support will impact the future of Fairfield University?
I hope to inspire others to join in and donate (in any amount) to the team they played for. It really isn’t about the size of the donation as much as it is about still wanting to be involved and feeling connected enough to want to contribute.

Do you have any advice for fellow Fairfield Athletics alumni and friends about how to stay involved?
I think it is important to stay in touch with your teammates. It also helps knowing the current players and coaching staff. Life takes over and people get busy and move on. Staying connected takes effort.

I live in the Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) near where I grew up. I have been married since 2010 and have a son (Chase 11) and daughter (Mae 9). We are busy with the kids' sports right now but I still find time to play tennis, pickle, ski, and coach softball for my daughter. As for my work life, I am a 5th generation owner of my family business Stauffer Glove & Safety. We sell PPE across the country and have been in business since 1907.
