Since 2015, Fairfield Dolan’s master of business analytics (MSBA) program has evolved to incorporate AI principles into its curriculum. Notable projects thus far include two books co-authored with AI and the innovative "Best-Self" generative AI art portraits by students. The program continues to equip students to leverage AI in the workplace.

In Fairfield Dolan’s master of business analytics (MSBA) program, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a pillar of the curriculum taught by experts in the field. The curriculum integrates hands-on learning with real-world datasets and case studies, which help students to understand the practical implications of AI technologies in the workplace.

Program director of the master of business analytics program and associate professor, Philip Maymin, explains that AI is an integral part of the MSBA, “It begins with our very first graduate course on leading with analytics, extends into many of our professions courses, including both explicitly in courses on machine learning and implicitly in courses on consulting strategy and others, and culminates in the capstone where many students choose to do projects involving AI."

Maymin adds that the MSBA also has an AI specialization for those who wish to delve even more deeply into this fascinating, timely, and important field. According to Yasin Ozcelik, business analytics department chair and associate professor of analytics, the MSBA team is also rebuilding the undergraduate analytics curriculum around AI as a feeder for the MSBA program. In the fall, Fairfield Dolan will be offering a brand new course, DATA 2000, which was filled on the first day of registration launch.

The Fairfield Dolan MSBA exemplifies Dolan's response to AI in real-world business applications that are used by many in their careers. Current MSBA student, Nicholas Sordi '23, MSBA '24, has learned practical skills in his program such as data analysis and predictive modeling.

“Fairfield Dolan prepares students exceptionally well for leveraging AI in the workplace by emphasizing both the technical and ethical aspects of AI,” Sordi '23, MSBA '24 said.
