#25 Stags Open NCAA Postseason Against Johns Hopkins, Today at Yale

Fairfield earned the first-ever NCAA at-large bid in MAAC Women’s Lacrosse history.

For the first time in program history, #25 Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship. The Stags' sixth consecutive national postseason trip begins today: Friday, May 10, against #11 Johns Hopkins at Yale's Reese Stadium in New Haven at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Fairfield is the MAAC Regular Season Champion, entering the postseason with a 16-2 record. The Stags reached the final of the conference tournament, where they were clipped by Niagara, 11-10, this past Sunday. The MAAC will send two teams to the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship for the first time, with the Purple Eagles nabbing the conference's AQ and the Stags earning the league's first-ever at-large selection.

Led by MAAC Coach of the Year Laura Field, the Stags’ earned a national ranking for the first time since 2009. Fairfield defeated two nationally ranked opponents in 2024 and earned a total of six wins over teams that reached the finals of their respective conference tournaments.

All fans in attendance on Friday at Reese Stadium are encouraged to wear red to support the Stags. The winner will advance to Sunday’s NCAA Second Round to meet the victor of Friday’s matchup between Binghamton and host Yale.
