5 Reasons Alumni Give to Fairfield University That Are Totally On Point

Fairfield alumna Cristina Esmiol '16 lets us in on why she gives back.

1. The Fairfield Experience

Cristina says, "At Fairfield, I discovered new passions, learned to be a leader, and stepped out of my comfort zone. As a senior, I became a New Student Leader. To be surrounded by a group that loved and cared for Fairfield so much was amazing. I will be forever grateful for that experience.”

2. Believing in our Jesuit education

Cristina says, “The Jesuit values shape the Fairfield experience. Cura Personalis (care of the whole person) is particularly important to me. At Fairfield, all aspects of your personal growth are equally valued. To be the most successful, happy student, it’s important to attend to all aspects of yourself. The Jesuit values guide us through our Fairfield years.”

3. The friends

Cristina says, “Fairfield is comprised of intelligent, passionate, thoughtful, and kind people. I am thankful for everything Fairfield gave me, but I’m most thankful for the friends I made. Fairfield friends are what make college amazing, but what’s more amazing is that the friendships last long after college ends.”

4. Our exciting future

Cristina says, “It’s been less than two years since I graduated and I’m experiencing major FOMO. Fairfield debuted it’s brand new RecPlex and a shiny new dining hall. A new residence hall and Dolan School of Business are currently in progress. I’m sure there are even more incredible things on the horizon. While I’m incredibly jealous of the students who get to enjoy all these great improvements, I’m so proud to the direction Fairfield is moving in.”

5. Alumni want other students to have all the positive and memorable experiences they did

Cristina says, "I’m thankful for alumni who shaped our University into the special place it is today, and I want future Stags to continue to have incredible experiences."

We love welcoming our alumni back to campus, and we're always grateful for their generosity to future generations of Stags. This STAGiving Day, Tuesday, March 20, you're invited to join the celebration and share stories about your more most memorable Fairfield experiences on social media and make a gift in honor of a professor, classmate, or program that made a profound impact in your life. New this year, if you make a gift of $75 or more, you can receive an pair of exclusive Stag socks. And, thanks to a group of generous donors, the first $150,000 dollars raised will be matched — so your contribution could be twice as impactful. We hope you'll join us in celebrating Fairfield and spreading Stag spirit during our fourth annual STAGiving Day.
