Black Art Fund

In 2021, the museum announced the creation of the Black Art Fund, a new fundraising initiative to support the acquisition of artwork by contemporary Black artists, to address a major gap in the museum’s permanent collection. The museum is seeking both financial contributions to this fund, and donations of museum quality artworks to achieve greater representation and recognition of non-white artists and artworks. As of Spring 2023, we have received four gifts of artwork, and have purchased 34 works with the funds that we have raised.
