What We Do

The Dolan Career Development Center provides professional development services for undergraduate and graduate students that enrich their academic experiences and inspire tomorrow's business leaders. These opportunities allow students to learn about themselves, and about the business world, as well as to apply what they're learning in the classroom.

Internships

Fairfield Dolan views practical experience as an important part of your academic program. An internship will give students the opportunity to apply classroom theories to real-world situations and use on-the-job experiences to enrich their academic program while giving them a competitive edge in the job market. Internship Stipends

The Fairfield Dolan Social Impact Summer Internship Program provided internship opportunities for students at local non-profit organization.

Interview Preparation

Mock Interviews are an invaluable opportunity to get instant feedback to improve interview skills. Throughout the academic year students receive several opportunities to meet with Center staff, recruiters, and alumni to hone their interview skills.

Individualized Career Coaching

The Dolan Career Development Center's team is available to meet with undergraduate and graduate students during drop in hours or by appointment. Common topics discussed include career exploration, internship search strategies, and salary negotiation.

Leadership Coaching

A partnership with leadership development platform BetterManager enables students to fine-tune their leadership skills while developing their personal brand.

Networking

We offer many networking opportunities for students to meet with alumni, employers, and community partners. This is a mutually beneficial opportunity that allows students to learn about potential careers, internships, and job opportunities while employers look for potential talent.

Workshops & Events

Fairfield Dolan hosts signature workshops and events throughout the year as part of the Dolan Professional Development Series (PDS) program. These events allow students to network with professionals and alumni, as well as to hone in on specific skills and professional interests.

Employment Services

Hundreds of employers work with the Dolan Career Development Center and Fairfield University Career Center to offer on-campus interviews, collect resumes, and list positions through Stags4Hire.

*Graduate student appointments available after 4:30 p.m. by request.

Professional-in-Residence

As part of the Dolan Professional Development Series, students will have additional opportunities to engage with professionals and gain real world insights about business leadership, career advancement strategies, and industry demands through the new Professional-in-Residence (PIR) program. This mentorship model will allow students to make an appointment with a PIR, meet in one of our many collaborative spaces, and build their capabilities and capacities in their business and professional pursuits.

Excel Workshop Series

This three level workshop series provides students with the technical skills needed to hit the ground running in their next internship or job. The series includes: Introduction to Excel, Intermediate Excel, and Advanced Excel.

Money TALKS: Financial Planning for College Students and New Graduates

This two part seminar teaches students and newly minted graduates financial skills that are not taught in the classroom. Participants will be challenged to think how they can hit the ground running once they receive their degree and place themselves on sound financial footing. Dolan Signature Workshops and Events

The Dolan Career Development Center hosts several signature events that are offered each year including the Dolan Career Night, Employer-In-Focus, and the Business Analytics Showcase.

Career Night

An evening for students to meet with top business executives and receive informal advice from professionals with experience in a variety of career paths.

Employer-In-Focus

Fairfield Dolan hosts top employers to campus to promote potential career paths, provide industry specific knowledge, and share job and internship opportunities.

Dolan Ambassador Program

The Fairfield Dolan Ambassador (DA) program invites highly accomplished business seniors to enhance the academic and professional environment of the Dolan School by sharing their internship experiences with current students. DAs share their experiences by mentoring undergraduate students and leading presentations to empower and educate students during the
internship process. Working in consultation with the Dolan Career Development Center the DAs
also engage in guest speaking in classes and help create an environment that inspires and prepares future business leaders.
